Didn't one get started a while back? What's the status if so?

West LA Group? SoCal Club? There must be a ton of us (but I don't ever see any of'em on the road) =)

I don't see much in the "Club" section....hummm

Where is the 1/20 Manhatten Beach meet?

When's the next Angeles Crest drive? Better make it quick while the weathers good...LOL

I go up most Fridays around 2PM if anyone wants to meet at the Shell station at the bottom. Newcombs Ranch is open and hardly any coppers on a weekday.

We started a SoCal club back in May of 2000 with the help of the original 24 or so people who showed. TFota in fact is one of our founders. However, we never had enough time to really sit down and think about where we should take the club. I had a hookup with a couple of dealerships who were willing to sponsor meets (give us parking spaces and notification to their S2K customers, etc.), but many owners wanted many different things in a meet, so in the end I decided to host smaller local events where the host can set the tone/contents of the meet. Like our last Westside install/get together - though we only did one install (Clive's leather console) where Prolene's skillful hands were highly admired during the process, it was fun. People came and left whenever, and my wife and I had a blast. Next time I do this, I'll remember the drinks (sorry guys, for that one minor forgotten detail).

I'm the type that really really enjoys the social side of the gathering. My hosting themes usually involves korean or carneasada BBQ, beer/wine/sake, and chips (which I'm hoping to do for Feb. or March), tech talks, etc. One other factor is that my wife enjoys meeting the significant others of the members, gives her a chance to meet new people.

I too enjoy both the drives and social meets. I agree, a SoCal club is just too big an area (Who's going to drive 2hrs each way for dinner?). I've started a San Diego group to get together and have some laughs once a month and perhpas some inpromptu drives. Organizing a huge event is just too time consuming. It would be nice to do a SoCal group meet a couple times a year, maybe once, but more regular meets need to be more localized. If you guys in LA want a forum just let me know.

I'll see you on the 20th mingster and other LA owners

I know a ton of roads in the LA area from biking (motorcycling) over the years...if someone wants to organize a drive and have me as "point" let me know. Or not as point.

Crest loops high and low, bouquet canyon, sand canyon, rock store, latigo, decker canyon...you name it, let's go.
