Default Soft top cover

I am thinking of buying an S2K and took one out for a test drive yesterday from a Honda dealer. In the boot was the cover that is supposed to fit over the soft top when down. Neither the dealer nor I could work out how to fit it - I managed the elastic straps at either end but the other clip anchorages seemed to be hidden behind the seats and were virtually impossible to reach with the roof down. Can anyone explain simply how to fit it ?

1st, make sure the top went down the correct way, the 1st bar of the convertable roof on most S2000s will try to stay in front of the latchs and it should be behind. That being said, if the bar is not behind the latch's the latchs will puch holes in the top on both sides.
2nd, with the top down, look at those latchs that clamp to the windshield frame and they should be above all of the canvas.
3rd, when placing the "boot" the elastic straps are the last ones I place. The ones along the back rest area are the hardest and those should be done first.
Last is to make sure the back is in place

Thanks for that.

On this side of the Atlantic what you call the trunk is called the boot - which is where the tonneau cover was stored when we started out.

So fitting the clips along the back rest area is as tricky as it looked to us ? You recommend fitting them first, followed by the side elastic straps ?

How exactly is the back part of the cover held in place ?

those clips will lock in place with guiding them only. No need to try to get your hand in there. It is a bit tricky though once you have done it successfully a few times it will be easier. The back part of the cover just tucks in next to the black molding around the base of the top.

this pic shows the cover in place and if you look you can see the cover is tucked behind the black trim peice around the base of the top.
