Default Soft Top Doesn't Fold properly (AP1)

Hey guys, so my rear window was replaced due to fogging by the previous owner. The problem is that it doesn't fold up properly. I am not sure how to explain it so here is a picture. I was wondering what I could do shy of getting the top replaced again to solve the problem.

Any suggestions as to what I can do?

My ap1 did that sometimes. You have to get out and poke it when it starts to bend wrong, or at least that's what I did.

You need to "train" the window to fold right. After a while, it will start folding correctly on it's own.

Well, the issue is I live in Canada and the weather is sub-degree for 75% of the year. I do the whole "get out of the car and push" thing but it is just not cool in the middle of the street. I just want to know is there like somewhere I can pull on or something while sitting in the car to make the thing fold properly without having to get out of the car? Such a PITA!

You can buy one of those Muz plastic tubes to place there so that your window "learns" to fold properly. Eventually you won't need to use it anymore.

Also, make sure you aren't lowering your top in "sub-degree" weather too often... if it is too cold out the plastic will crack when you try to lower your top.

Lastly, make sure you properly treat your plastic window. I like to use 303 aerospace protectant and plexus to clean the window and ensure it doesn't get stiff.

Thanks for the tips, can you give me a link for the "Muz plastic tube"?

Edit: haha I meant to type sub-zero, thanks for catching that!

I think Coastal Metal's makes a product like this too.. might be a bit cheaper.

Didn't mean to harass you about the sub-degree/zero thing! Was just going by the terminology you used. I remember there's a certain degree you're not supposed to lower the top under, but I forget the specific temperature

Thanks for the quick reply tekstar. The link you posted seems like it's a piece for "while your top is down" sort of thing, am I right? When I push the plastic window in, the top folds fine, and stays fine. My problem is that I don't want to get out of my car everytime I am putting the top down.
Sorry if I misunderstood the point of the tube, it's just what it seemed to be for from that picture.

Bah, mine used to do that too, god did I hate that. My solution was to get a roof with a glass window. Definitely the most expensive option, but it's worth it.

Yeah that's what the tube is used for. Personally never used it myself, but have heard from others that after you use it for a while your window gets "trained" to fold that way, so you never need to use it after that.

Just a suggestion
