Default soft top durability?

Will the soft top be okay in the snow and rain? I'll be purchasing a s2k in the next month or so but I won't be able to store it in the garage during the winter time. Will the soft top be okay during the icy winter? What can I do to help protect it better other than using a car cover?

Not sure about snow (we don't get any here) but it'll be fine in rain, even heavy sustained rain. I use Vinylex on my soft top once every few months. I believe a number of others use 303 on the soft top.

I vinylex my top everytime I wash the car. It looks nice and I notice that water beads up on it like wax. If you decide to get this stuff, be sure to put it on an applicator pad and rub the pad together to spread the solution before applying it to the top. I noticed if I sprayed the Vinylex directly on the roof it stains drip marks.

Get a car cover or don't bother. The top can handle about anything if you take care of it.

I have heard stories of people's plastic windows cracking when they try to put the top down in near-freezing temperatures. Other than that, I haven't heard of any weather related damage.

The plastic window is only on the '00-'01 S2000's.

Just don't lower it when cold and/OR wet.

I've lowered it a few times on accident when it was wet and it wouldn't go all the way down. But nothing permanent. Just had to wait for it to dry.

I lowered and raised my top a few times in cold weather this winter, and I have a small tear to show for it!
