Default soft top fitting

Ok well i bought a hardtop back in october and after changing out the strikers my soft top no longer seals properly it is waaay to tight and im not sure where to really adjust the latches to let them release farther out.

Anyone have this problem or can give me some insight???
Thanks much
Nick

If you had an '05, why did you change out the stock strikers?
I'm waiting for my HT from HTG, but I'm not going to change the strikers.
I'll let you know how it goes.

With my 04 I changed the strikers because they are a little different then the ones that came on the car (even though everyone says you dont need to replace them/ they are the same )before changing the strikers the HT would rattle. Once I changed them it was much tighter and the rattle went away.

I dont know if the soft top still fit though cuz mine has been removed and sold to another member

The HT strikers I bought from Hard Top guy were different than the ones on the Car, I bought the HT used and was told I did not need to get them that the 04 ones would work fine.

When I remove my hardtop, if it's been on a long time, and raise the soft top, the soft top seems pretty tight. I like to let it warm in the sun before I raise it the first time. After it has been allowed to stretch, it's fine.

i guess its not such a big deal i figure the HT will be put away in the summer and if the soft top doest "stretch" ill just swap back to the normal strikers, now that i think of it i never even tried to put the HT on with the original strikers...

still kinda surprised there isnt a way to adjust those latches though
