I need some advice for the top noise.
WHen I drive on the freeway, I hear loud wind-noise when I go above 60MPH.
It has been about 2 month. I first thought that it's normal for winter cuz wind is a lot stronger, but it's like you don't wanna drive this car on the freeway more than 10 minutes.
I've had Z3, Porsche Boxter, Eclipse Spyder so far, none of this car had this much noise.
Are there any ways to take care of this problem?

It may be normal... Otherwise, consider the roof liner...

 

The Z3,Boxster and Eclipse has 2-3 layers of fabric in the roof,the S2000 only have 1 layer to keep the weight down.Thats the reason,but you could always buy the HT to use on highway trips.

It's TSB 01-037, called "Wind Noise or Rattle at the Convertible Top". I just had it done last Friday and seems to reduce the wind noise...as well as the rattle from the top release handles. This TSB replaces the original latches with the ones for the Hardtop

 

wind noise is inevitable in this car because of its thin roof top. the only solution is to install some custom liners.

It doesn't sound normal to me from your description of your problem. Mine does not make any wind noise, regardless of the speed.

It does make a little bit of noise from the sides of the back window. There is a bit of material on either side of the back window that flaps in the breeze and makes a slapping sound on the back window. It's nothing to worry about, though.

I would have the dealer fix it for you.

I have bought the car around March 2001. I never noticed that much wind noise until november. I guess I'll have to check with the Honda Service ceneter.
I am afraid that they are gonna tell me it's normal cuz I feel like I am going above 150++MPH when I actually go above 70MPH. (I have done the top speed in Summer)

 

I don't understand some of the replies here.

Either the top has noise or it does not. The people who answered get used to it make me wonder if they had noise to begin with and don't realize that some S2000's make no noise(likes yours for several months).

That said, I walked away from a new 2001 because of the noise. It was so bad that I could not hear the person next to me at 50mph.

Later, i test drove a 2002 and then bought it. Very quiet at least so far
after 30 days of use even at 80Mph.

Can someone in this forum answer whether some S2000's are noisey from the get go or if one can expect these problems absolutely after so much use or time has passed???
