Default Soft Top Not Going Down All The Way

Recently my soft top doesnt go down and stow properly - at least not on the first try. My car is an 01 w/ about 58k on it. I noticed this issue as the weather started getting colder. Usually after a few tries it goes all the way down, but it's annoying.

The car is under bumper to bumper warranty, but I dont have a 2nd car so I'd rather not leave it at the dealer.

Any ideas? Is this just a colder weather thing?

thanks.

I had the same problem after the soft top on my '01 was replaced under warranty for a small tear. I took it back and they then replaced the big elastic straps too, and it that fixed the problem.

I had this when the car was new 10 months ago. Just pause when the roof is half way down and then push the middle bar a little to the back and lower further down. After a few times problem goes away.

I had few times before, but I thought that's because the soft top didn't fold correctly, so I simply push the TOP button all the way up then all the way down again, problem solve

Modifry, one of s2ki's sponsors, has a $15 fix for this (New Straps). Install takes about 15 minutes and corrects the problem. Click Here for more information

When I had mine done for free at the dealership, I told them to be sure to get the old rivets out. They got most of them. Otherwise, you hear them rattle from side to side on turns, in the bars.

Make sure you don't put your top down when it's really cold, MY00 rear plastic window cracked right down the middle. Guess it doesn't have that form to stretch at cold temperatures.

my softtop does not line up properly when im trying to lock it down. Any of you guys know how to fix this? I have to pull it towards the drivers side to get it to align and then lock it. Is this normal or is there an easy fix?
