Gioire: I used to use LowGloss ArmourAll, then I was given some 303 Protectant. Both work well. Just don't spray directly on the top. Spray on a cloth and wipe top with cloth. Let stand (top up) overnite to dry well or it will run when you wash it next.

My soft top is OK, as new. 1 year and a half old.

Just try to protect it from rain and sun. Do as I do, check it out:

When the sun is shining --> put your top down and ride the S with your hair in the air
When it is Raining --> put your top down again... and insert the HardTop

Good luck!

top?
what top?
oh, yeah- the thing under the boot...
mine is 3 years old and has been used only when i am washing the car, or if i get hit by a surprise rain shower.
rich5842- i see that you live in calif too, so not sure why you are concerned about the top.
if you do use it, it is made of a very strong vinyl which should last for many years if you take care of it (just like your paint job will last for many years if you take care of it).

Great info! A co-worker of mine is a Miata aficionado and drives his every day (his only car). Living in the St. Louis area, driving with the top up for a considerable part of the year is a given, if you choose to drive it year-round, as I intend to do with the '04 I've ordered. He has a fitted cloth (looks like some synthetic) cover that he uses whenever he's going to park his Miata for any length of time that just covers the top and windows. Has anyone seen anything similar for the S?

It's a vinyl top, so I use Lexol Vinylex for it. It works great. Not too shiny, but makes the top look very black.

I've got to do something with my top too. The Florida sun is hard on things down here. Anyway, Rich, get the car already. I traded in a new 2003 Acura CL-S for my 2003 S2k and I'm very happy with it. It's the best, most fun car I ever had. Good Luck!

Don't forget to wash the top just like you do the rest of the car. It gets dirty too. Then, treat it with a protectant a couple times a year, more if it is out in the sun often.
