years ago my car was vandalized and I ended up with a new top. It was waaaayyyy tooo snug...i figured out the top frame was bent, probably from someone trying to lower it while the power was off, at any rate, new top frame and no more tight issues. if the frame is bent it will never fit right and be very very tight. just a thought to ask the shop? is the frame bent?
