Default Software upgrade for '04+?

This may be a newbie question, but seeing as to how many people are making such a big deal over the 8k redline vs the original 9k redline.. I was wondering if there are any software updates or any other kind of mod that lengthens the '04's redline to 9k?

Wouldn't that be the best of both worlds? Added torque + 9k redline!

Heres my .o2. Keep the 9k redline; give me an extra 20hp to the wheels and an extra 10 ft lbs of torque. oh wait, I already have that on my ap2!

Just joking everyone. Dont have a cow....

Well sorry for being a newbie.. just get on my case why don't you.. I've heard of software that made the old S2k's go up to 11k redline.. why not 9k for the new ones?

Sure you can make it go up to 9k or 10k, the question is how long do you want the engine to last?

To get to 2.2l, honda stroked the motor, this increase causes the piston to have to travel a longer distance meaning piston speeds go up, force on conrods goes up. The head is good for up to 10k , but it's the bottom end that is the limiter. Honda may have thought leaving a 9k redline would be cutting it too close....

Anything can be done, it's simply a matter of time and $$$$...
