Default Are some of Rick's wheel badges defective?

Hi, I've had the Yellow S badges on my car for only about a month and never drive my car in the rain. I spray my rims with a cleaner (only twice since I've had the badges on) and am wondering if that is causing the S image to smear? I don't recall seeing anything that came with the wheel badges that said they couldn't be cleaned with a rim cleaner? Under the clear coating on top of them, the S in yellow and also the blacks are smearing. Is anyone else having this problem or did I get a bad batch? I'm also starting to wonder if the body badges will do the same?

For those with the wheel badges, how long have you had them on and how do they look? Do you ever wash them with anything?

Thanks,
Dave

Okay, here are four shots, one of each tire. They look worse in real life than these photos picked up, but they are definatly turning funky looking. The discoloration and smearing is under the clear plastic on the sticker. Very Weird, as I've only had them wet twice since I've had them.

I'll ask Rick/James to take a look at this thread. I'm glad it just appears to be my set then.

Thanks,
Dave

Looks like whatever you are using to clean your wheels is seeping in from the outside edges toward the inside. What are you using and how long have you had your badges?

These will definitely need to be replaced. Drop me a personal email and I will take care of it for you.

For what it's worth, this is the first time we have ever seen this condition in the 3 years we have been producing our S Badges.

Regards,
James

It looks as if the silvering on the back has started to peel away. My first guess would be the cleaner you're using is reacting with the glue used to hold the silver backing to the badge.

Thanks James, I sent you an email. For those wondering, I've used Meguiars Hot Rims Cool Care All Wheel Cleaner on my rims. I've only had the badges on for about a month, and have only use this product on them twice, and only sprayed on lightly. My car isn't driven in the rain and is only driven on weekends. I haven't even had to wash it in two months, since I never drive it! (I use the California Duster and Quick Detailer Spray to keep it clean).

Thanks for your help eveyone! Glad nobody else has had this problem!
