Some people have no respect. I'm going to wash it now (11:45 pm and I just got home from work) Anyways, I think that I remember hearing somewhere that something in the egg will eat away at the paint. Is this true?
Yes it will! I found out this the hard way. My car was egged months ago, the egg hit just above the back window. I caught it and rinsed off all the egg I could find. It turns out that a couple drops splashed on the hood and I didn't notice until next time I washed. Now there are a couple spots on the hood with damaged paint (the paint has miniature crackles in it and when you look at it it looks like an unwashed spot on the car). Repainting the hood would be expensive, but fortunately it doesn't look all that bad (not noticable when the car is dirty), and it's on the hood (which is aluminum, thus no rust danger).
I also had my car egged not long ago... Make sure to check for cracks/scratches in the paint at the point of impact (if it hit a body panel). My car now has two "bruises". Really sucks. I ended up washing my entire car at 4 in the morning. What a pain.
egg will only take paint off if you let it bake in the sun.. just like HAM on the paint..
you would have to let it sit baking in the sun for a while before it does anything.. the only thing that might happen is if the guy who threw the egg, threw very hard, it might of dented your door panels/hood etc..
Originally posted by s2ktaxi The thing you need to be most concerned about from egging is the paint damage from the egg shell itself.
because the force of the egg sure can out a bigass dent on the doors or panels.. if my car was to get egged.. i would hope it hit my either my window or my wheels.
