Default Someone backed into my S2k.....

Guys....I don't have any pics...but a Mercedes Truck backed into my NFR S2K...and
it left it's gray marks on the hood just where the emblem is.

It's got these long gray spots (the Truck had a gray bumper)...how do I get them out?

Please help.

Could you please specify which product to use, what would be best, what kind of buffer, etc.

I have a 10-inch "walmart" buffer...I don't think it'll do the job, it's a buffer. And I don't have a problem cleaning until my arms are sore...

Here are the pics:

If it's just gray streaks due to paint transfer and not actually scraping into the plastic of the bumper, you can buff them out.

Using a machine would be easier. Maybe a local member has a Porter Cable or other buffer you can use.

It's perfectly possible for you to do it by hand, but it would take a lot of elbow grease to get it out. Get a foam applicator pad such as:

and some Mequiars Scratch-X

And expect very sore arms by the time you're done.

If it has actually cut into the bumper, you will need to look into getting it repaired.

that or the less popular way of rubbing compound. but it takes a bit of clearcoat with it, so you will need to polish and wax after so it comes out to about the same amount of work.

Do you have any pictures?

If it dented, you'll have to get it repaired. If you don't care about the dent, but paint chipped, you'll want to get it repaired so that bare metal isn't exposed to the elements.

If its just paint scuff, you can buff it out.

If its just paint transfer, you can just clay bar it to remove. Scratches will require polishing but if you can catch your fingernail in the scratch, it won't go away.

Thanks guys..I'll try to take some pics...there is a tiny dent though....

It looks like the hood is lifted up a bit right in the middle...but it's actually the front bumper (in the middle) that's been pushed down by the weight or force of the truck.

Pics coming soon....

Based on the photos, most of the scuffs should come out with a light polish.
As I mentioned before, try to borrow a buffer if you can. It'll make short work of most of it and save you a lot of effort.
