Question Someone out there has one of my Keys...

Hey guys, I bought my car used about a year or so ago. When I bought it they handed me 2 black keys and I thought nothing of it. Now after reading thru a couple stolen S2k threads I'm starting to think a little about it. I had an aftermarket alarm installed and everything but still. Is there any way to re-program the keys to the ECU or something like that so that grey valet key or whatever it is would be useless? Thanks.

Only the dealer can do that for you. They have a diag program running on windows mobile that connects to the OBD port and accesses that info.

someone could have it, but chances are very slim, if you're worried, just get a few new s2k keys..

it's nothing, the theive wanted your car probably have a set of masterkey, plus if they really want it, it's pretty much gone

I doubt it's the previous owners stealing the cars.

Have you seen the condition of the recovered vehicles? That's professional chopshop work... and they ain't using your old valet ket....

where theres a will theres a way, i see claims all the time for stolen vehicles and well, stuff happens. If the previous owners wanted to take ur car, it wouldve been gone already, either that or it wouldve been stolen at the dealership. Odds are you're more likely going to have someone break into your house, find your key, find the parked s2000, and then drive off with it... sounds kinda out there huh?
Not pointing fingers or anything, but typically when a car is stolen with some sort of transponder key like our's, most of the time the owners are involved... just can't prove it.

ok , i did heared some one it's involed with thier car stolen cases, and most of the case can't proved it..
but for a brand new cost of 35k s2000?
what's the point? if someone wants to do it.. do a nice bimmer or nice M-benz.
with 50k+ .right?

Someone stole one of my keys out of my hotel room when I was visiting Florida... with my car at home in California.

They were probably pretty sad when they tried to find my car in the parking lot, haha, jerks.
