Wow strange.....hmmm...I'm originally from Kansas and people just wouldn't do that there. Maybe it's because people in the Midwest are generally nicer, or maybe it's just because most cars there tend to have gun racks

Suprisingly, in Ohio, a pedestrian has the right of way in a crosswalk. As part of that clause, a motor vehicle driver is responsible for all accidents and damage caused in a crosswalk. So if you turn onto a road and someone is crossing the street, and you almost hit them or even get near them, and they have a Louisville Slugger with them, they could smack your car and it would be your fault.

Or at least that's what I'm told.
