Default Someone stole the round thing on my bumper

Does anyone know what the round thing below the left taillight does? I heard it was for towing.

Well, now my car looks like it has a hole in it. Some people are just so stupid, if I EVER catch whoever does this...

Was it stolen or did it fall out? Mine went missing last month, but since there were no scratches, I think it just fell out. And yes, it covert the where you attach the tow hook. It's pretty cheap, $5 - $7 or something at the parts counter.

at least your car is black so it doesnt stand out as much as red yellow or white. I really don't see why anyone would steal that... im pretty sure it fell out..

They do fall out, see if the dealer will replace under warranty.

Is there any way to keep it in, short from glueing the thing in? That would be dumb, anyway, because you'd only be able to tow from the front...and that would come back to haunt you, I'm sure.

Use some liquid silicone. It'll hold it in, but isn't permanent. Make sure you put it on the back, then stick in the plastic cover thingy. That way, the silicone won't show on the outside.

Most likely it fell out. Mine did that - I'm sure of it. It fell out about 3 days after I got the car, it was replaced under warranty.

If someone did take it out, you'll see a small pry mark.

Yes, it's the cover for the tow hook.

Thanks for the info, Alex. I'll try and get some liquid silicone this weekend (before the meet)

I'm sure MeTH222 will be doing the same to his after he gets a replacement.

I just put a big lump of tape over the little anchor that's supposed to (but doesn't) stop the thing going missing.
