Default is something wrong....

my ap1 idles at 800-900 rpm.... it goes 1k rpm stays there for a sec or so and goes back to 800-900 rpm.

im not sure if that normal for an ap1, my ap2 is usually at 1K and it will touch 1100 with the ac on at times

how often does it do this? is your idle noticeably bouncing around?

Mine does the same thing. It doesn't happen all the time, just once in a while on startup (after warmup) or extremely hot days.

heat soak? Mine does this only when in stop and go traffic on hot days.

Mine will do that sometimes, i start it jumps up to 1k falls below for a few seconds and then jumps back up.

Yeah mine does the same. I dont think its a big deal if so many of our cars are doing it.

my AP2 idles around 1k as well. I think it's normal, from everything I've read

unless it's a noticeable regular/constant 'rpm bounce', you have nothing to worry about. rpm fluctuating 100 rpm every once in awhile is normal.
