hey,
i am a newbie honda s2k owner, barely 600 miles on mine....

noticed that when i shift from 1st to 2nd i feel some friction. its not grinding the gears bad or anything like that but definitely some contact, is this normal for first 100miles?????


also, wanted to know what people r doing with the oil after the 5000miles....are the majority of owners switching to synthetic oil??? what are the pros/cons of doing this???

The 1-2 friction you are feeling is normal. It has to do with the triple synchro set up that Honda used for 2nd gear. As the tranny warms up, it should loosen up. Also gets better over time.
