while i was up in Pt Reyes with the rest of the crew (see the trip report) Matt noticed that my exhaust tips were MUCH blacker than anyone else's (and i had i believe the least mileage of any of us). in addition, the back of the car was covered with a LOT of black soot.

i've noticed that my car tends to have a lot of black soot on the tail (which means i end up washing my car a LOT) but i'd thought it was either normal or from being in the city.

now i'm worried. anyone else finding their car emits a lot of soot? should i be worrying? could the glasspack be burning or something crazy?

excellent.
so i'll just be waiting for the break-in to cease and assume that it will coincide with a drop-off in the sootiness.

thanks,
