Default Spa owners!

I ordered an oem lip from honda and it does not match my car exactly. Granted my car is an '01, the color might've changed over the years. But is this normal or what. Lip is a bit brighter than the car itself.

Could it be a Rio yellow lip? You do know that for 2004 the yellow color changed to Rio which is more of a canary yellow!

there are 2 different yellows that were offered on the S2000 i believe. one was more bright/highlighter yellow and one was a more deep, rich yellow. I think one was called Indy and one was called Rio

This sort of thing is quite noticeable regardless of color and regardless of year. Pre-painted factory add-ons like lips, spoilers and side strakes simply don't match well in color to the exiting color on the car. Sometimes you get lucky, but on the most part, this doesn't happen. Spa, in particular, can be very difficult.

It does not match because it has fresh paint, while your car bumper is older, faded a bit not as smooth. Give it time and it will be fine. No one will notice the difference except you.

after having it go through some weather and what not, the paint will start to dull a bit and match the rest of your car. i just ordered a new lip too, and mines an 01 also. i am anticipating it being slightly different.
