Jason,

No mention on HKS exhaust at that tdi site, however people with Mugen Header and exhaust combo were getting up to 10 BHP I think, also they were saving 20+lbs of weight, an easy 40+ lbs can be 'saved' by Mugen exhaust / wheel combo, even more with lightweight rotors, some wild exhausts (single exit AMUSE Ti can save nearly 40 lbs by it self, just don't expect the Rozzers to leave you alone

So someone with money could maybe gain 10 BHP and reduce weight by nearly 30 Kg with mugen combo & some nice OZ Superleggra alloys and Giampero's rotors (or others), next Remove the spare, fit Recaro seats, there's another ~20 Kg,

Add another

Well I was behind the 4 cyl. BMW roadster yesterday. We came a cross a bridge and ended up in a lane that crossed the road in one lane traffic only and then split into 2. I knew we were gona fly into the other lane as soon as we crossed the road. I kept it in first over the road and hammered it, banged second thinking i was gonna run over this guy and he was pulling very hard. I definetly was creeping on him but i thought i should of rear ended him. Next light we are side by side and I see some gauges on his dash(aftermarket). I instantly recalled the option of a supercharger for this car. I nodded to him. Charged? I asked. He nodded back. So anyway I was like wow ya never know.

Jason,

Don't feel too bad...there's one important thing to note here that should make you feel better:

You said he was BEHIND you the whole time, sitting on your rear end?

Did you ever consider the unfairness of this? What about the fact that you were taking the brunt of the air hitting your car and he was getting a wonderful DRAFT from sitting behind your car?

If he hadn't managed to get behind you immediately as you were accellerating, he may have had a harder time catching you. The very fact that he was flashing his lights...he had a false sense of security by doing this. He was cocky and he had no right to be!

If you HAD pulled over and let him by, I suspect that he would not have 'spanked' you like you think he did. As soon as you cleared that airstream for him to then hit it, he would have encountered that "brick wall of air" as well. It's all to easy to make up speed when you are drafting somebody else.

I know that MR2 turbo's are fast (modded ones even faster), and I'm not being blind by saying that the S2000 is the fastest car out there. But you still have 240hp - nothing to be shamed about!!!!

Things would have been a LOT more even if you were side by side the whole way. Trust me.

Jason,
Do you mean a new MR2- The little MR2 or the larger older styled car. I didn't think the new car could get anywhere near ours? I knew that some of the older imports had been souped up a long way but that they would struggle in terms of handling to keep up on the twisties.

I beat the living crap out of 2 Houston MR2's a couple months ago.

They must not be the newer 245 HP model "ultimate lurker" is talking about.

This one white one that has a bodykit belongs to one of my x-girl friend's friend. I draged him from 3-4 stoplights and kicked his tail.

This other time late as heck at night...I was on Murphy on the right lane and about to go south bound 59. All the sudden this grey colored MR2 with a yellow piece or bumper in the back (not sure what it was) revved and blew his blow off valve next to me "ppssssssheeewww", and went to the left most lane going under 59 (north bound). That pissed me off...I dropped to second went from the right lane over to the left lane, followed the MR2 under the 59 overpass...took this bada$$ turn and moved next to him. He guns it and I gun it...I hear his turbo spooling...but alas it is too late...I am already in vtec...and his head lights fade away in the distance. Hahaha...

Jason,

"They are also based in Liverpool and I'm in Warrington (about 15 miles away)"

Never thought I'd see Warrington mentioned here - small world. I now live in Minnesota, but Warrington is my home town (village of Culcheth, just outside).

Simon,

its the 2nd gen one i.e. the bigger one. It was a jap import, not sure of the year but upto 94 they were 220 bhp after 94 they were 245 bhp. Judging by the MRD sign on the back this one had been to a tuning house called Mental Racing Development where they do 300 bhp+ MR2 conversions.

It would have been interesting to see just how far he would have pulled away from me if I had changed lanes but when someone starts flashing lights at me I become stubborn and stay there on purpose.

Cheers

So do I - I was in my CRX (Del Sol) today and a fool in a Maserati stormed up behind me in a gap between Stop/Go traffic. He flashed me pointlessly and wanted to squeeze past me.

I thought my car is worth about
