speedcraft or UR
I have the Speedcraft kit and am very happy with it. I made my purchase several months after UR came out with their kit. I did all the homework on both kits, and slowly the problems with the UR kit started to trickle in. I decided on Speedcraft due to their extensive experience with this kit and their knowledge of the AEM EMS with this car. Their tuning is top notch. There are some things that I would change about the kit, but that is personal preference. My S2k is my daily driver in DC stop and go traffic and I haven't had any complaints. As far as I am concerned you get what you pay for and the Speedcraft kit is worth its weight in gold (only if you go the EMS route).
I did have some bugs that needed to be worked out, but if you have done any searching by now you should know that there is no such thing as a plug and play turbo kit for this car. If you don't have the money to support the turbo then it might not be for you.

I think you're debate is not actually on the kits themselves but on the type of Engine Management.
Didn't Speedcraft's kit initially come with an FMU?
I believe both kits are top notch but if you associate either with AEM EMS then you'll have a turbo kit that will out perform any turbo kit with E-manage.
E-manage granted needs ALOT of tweaking to get it done right. I've spoke to Darryl from Ultimate and their "guinea pig" did start off with all of the well known glitches we've all read about. But now the car is running right with no complaints. I think I read it did a mid to high 12 second pass (if drag racing is your specialty)
I'm sure if you PM all the users (Speedcraft, UR, Spool, etc.) they'll have no problems with the kit itself just the type of Engine Management they used.
If its quality you are looking for I don't think you can go wrong with either. I heard Spool kits were shipped in Zip lock bags

the UR kit has a problem with the tuning for before 4000 rpms. It runs too lean. Then once it makes boost it's well beyond rich. The UR kit would run perfectly fine if after you installed the kit, you got it tuned.
The e-manage isnt too specific since it has a 16x16 chart, but you can get it work out. I've been tuning mine myself for a little while now and it runs fine...just a little more to go with it, but it's running great so far. But I'm sure a person who has had actual and long amount of experience with tuning would be able to street tune in almost no time. I on the other hand have just been teaching myself using a/f and a lot of laptop time.
Vin, you gotta ride in my car now
the exhaust got my boost up one more PSI...it's running at 8 now. Feels totally awesome. When the stock clutch isnt slipping and I'm in second gear, at 5k it makes close to full boost and I'm breaking traction
...feels awesome dude.
fperra: could I possibly be able to get your e-manage charts file? I'd really like to take a good look at it and compare. My e-mail is kane4fire@nyc.rr.com
