Can I say that I just put the black light there for decoration?
After all, the light was not even on.
It was not distracting any drivers. And it was @ 7:45 am.

Is there a rule that the cop has to have the radar on you for more than 6 seconds or something like while you are speeding?
(I think I remember reading that somewhere?)

Since you are in California, go to ticketassassin.com and follow their advice.

Unless you dont have insurance if you bring proof they throw that out. Other than that, if you are a college student, most colleges offer free legal help via their legal students
Just a thought, cause lets face it, in this country only only way for a fair trial is money for a lawyer.

The real question is were you going 51? Since you did not say that you were going slower and you mentioned the other cars it sounds like the ticket was legit. In that case I would just pay it and get on with your life. One ticket will not normally trigger an insurance increase. You could also ask for traffic school.

That is the problem, I do not remember. I never do look at the MPH. That is why I am trying to gather ideas so I can come out with something that will reduce my ticket.

As far for the proof of insurance, that is easy.

Keep it coming!

Morris - Thanks for that website. It gave me something to think about on how to fight the ticket.

Take a defensive driving course. You still have to pay the fine , but your record is clean; basically, they dismiss the ticket. The classs is only about six hours, and it's a real no-brainer. For a traffic school in your area, go to: http://www.traffic-school.org/

Is this your first ticket? if so why go through all of this when you can just go to traffic school and be done with it. No points, nothing on your record...or use www.ticketassassin.com with their techniques you dont even have to go to court...if the decision is not in your favor then you still have the option of going to court...just my .02 I have used ticketassassin twice with success. but others have not been as lucky....
