hmm i'll do a run with the gps and another run with my sister's civic. the civic i was next to didnt have aftermarket rims, so maybe the comment with the civic having oversized tires has some merit

You can fix your speedometer, and support a board member: http://www.modifry.com/products/yj/index.htm . Bob's a star.

I don't know how accurate those things that the police set out to let you know how fast you're going are... but I seem to run into them A LOT around my area, and my spedometer always reads exactly 4 mph higher than what they say... not sure if I'm off or what.

50 and lower dead on, above that starts to get on a sliding curve of almost 3 mph off...

Honda was sued in a class action for having "skewed" their odometer/speedometers to record mileage at faster rate than actual on Honda and Acura automobiles purchased between April 13, 2002 and November 7, 2006. So finding your speedo reflecting a mph rate higher than a GPS indicates it should on a model from those years is no surprise.

Ran mine (2006) against a standard GPS as well as a loaned DOT (and calibrated) radar gun - the speedo was "right on."
