Well you should deff. hit up some twisties and autocross events to get your skills tuned in. The s2k does like to get the rear end out a lil, which is fun as hell on the track (maybe not the quickest way to overcome the apex....but amusing all the same) You just have to learn how to, and what to do in oversteering situations. I have no problem kicking out the rear end and maintianing a breif 5 second or less drift. No go get a helment and go have fun

Stupid question - but what's the reason the car couldn't start for two minutes? Does anyone have a scientific explanation?

Fuel cut off switch. When you "pit" the car. When it spins the fuel is cut to keep gas from spilling during a crash. Takes a while to reset and your engine has become starved for fuel so my guess is you run lean for a little while.

Actually, that should read "if you want to *humble* yourself, go to a track". Nothing will bring you back to reality quicker than an instructor in the passenger seat or being the slowest S2000 at an auto-x. People usually find out their mAd Str33t sKillZ actually suck when they go to an auto-x. Most of them take their bruised ego home and never go back. Others get over it and keep coming back and become very skilled drivers. I'm not there yet, this is my 4th year auto-xing, I'm still the slowest S2000 in my region but now at least I'm faster than the M3s, Evo, and STis. (A Stock is much more fun than B Stock!!)

Oh, and I spun last week in turn 6 at Wakins Glen. My car did the same thing as yours, wouldn't start up right away. I think this happens because the engine stalled before I got both feet in. Probably the same thing happened to you.

I was going to go out for a little spin in my S2K, but after reading this post, I think a little drive will be better.
