Default Spoon Carbon Seat question

Hi all,

I've done some searches in the forum but I've come up empty. I love the Spoon bucket seat (as I'm sure many do!) but it seems to have absolutely no padding whatsoever. With the Mugen, at least the material its covered in seems to have at least some plushness to it, no? The Bride Exas III, Recaro SPG for instance looks like they have a removable pad in the bottom. Why don't the Mugen & Spoon have this?

Question, are the Bride and Mugen more comfortable than the Spoon because of this?? Has anyone tried to put pads in the bottom of the Spoon or Mugen seats? And finally, can you use the stock seat belt with the Spoon seat? I mean no rubbing at the edge of the seat and tight around the waist.

Any help would be great thanks!

all the bucket seats are made for racing only, they only care about weight and safty. if you want something more comfortable get the Sparco pro2000, they have the most padding of them all.

Lightweight, that's the ultimate purpose. The more padding is applied, the more weight the seat will weigh. As for your comfort, a good ergonomically designed seat will make you feel comfortable regardless of how much padding is applied. Unfortunately, the size/built of the user will determine how the seat will fit as well.

Yes, you can use the OEM seat belts with both seats but overtime, it will scuff like any other wear and tear item.

Thanks for the input. That's what I figured, that the lack of pads is for ultimate weight savings. Its funny though how the Recaro, Bride, and others have it and the Mugen and Spoon don't.

I have the Mugen seat, and I've been in AJ PwR's Spoon seat. I got the Mugen because.....I could barely fit in the Spoon one. But the material is pretty different, the Mugen feels more padded in certain areas as to the Spoon seat. Also the cloth material on the Spoon one feels....you can't say it feels cheap, but it feels different than normal perforated cloths.
So to answer your question. Yes the Mugen seat seems to be more comfortable for daily driving than the Spoon one. And yes the seatbelt will rub onto the seat.
