Why am I a bit of a tech head or why do I like the digital dash? Or do you mean why would one do it ...swap out their instruments?

i think i will grow to like it.
i'm just "trained" to see analog displays, and it will take a bit.

 

I don't really like the S2000s digital dash. It looks cheap and and has no class. I'm used to it now, but I think that MX5, RX7, Boxster, BMW (any) (or practically any other sports car) has a nicer looking dash. Personally, I don't think anything can beat the look and functionality of a nice round analogue gagues in chrome bindings :-)

Though, I do agree that this particular 'replacement' does not look that good. The instruments seem to be wrong size and randomly placed in the dash. Not very apealing to me.

 

Those new gauges are silly. I get the point to have analog but that is both! The ONLY Reason i could see even considering that cluster is if the car was heavily modified to have a higher redline.

I used to think they were cheesy but now being on the cusp of needing laser surgery (or beyond the cusp) I'm pretty grateful for the digital dash.

I can't read the analog speedometer on my Superhawk anymore.

 

There's no symmetry to the instrument cluster. I think it's ugly. Humans like symmetry according to many psychology experiments.
