It's flywheel hp. I don't know why they keep saying in the video that is has so much torque. It's only an extra 35hp and maybe 10-15 tq. Although the car is 500lbs lighter.
Yeah, 500 pounds is a lot of weight to drop..

I think the only reason why they are experiencing this "massive" torque increase is because of the massive weight loss. 500 lbs will do that for any engine.

Lower gearing magnifies torque. If the gearing is of a higher ratio, it will magnify the torque. I'm sure this thing has atleast a final drive gear.

haha at 49-years old this is becoming a problem for me...there is a drug for that

these guys are great. wish every BMI video has english subtitles on the internet.

not starting a war but you all heard (saw) MR. SPOON himself agree "the new S2K is more for the street while for track use, the old model is still attractive."

good video. Ive owned both MY00 and MY05, both have pros and cons, love them both!

It's actually higher compression, it says 11.8:1. And all they were saying is they increased the stroke to make the extra .2 liter displacement, which is the same thing honda did with the AP2.
I think the redline was increased to 8600 rpm as well.

I always liked this version of the Spoon S2K. Did anyone notice how well it handled through the chicane? The suspension setup/tuning is awesome.

The motor was an F20C, so actually the redline was decreased to 8600rpm.

He was talking about how the longer stroke = higher piston speed, and 8500rpm was ideal to keep the piston speed about the same as it was with the shorter stroke at 9000rpm.
