Well, not just the crankshaft, but everything that runs the length of the engine (the camshafts, for example) is exposed to a signifcant increase in stress.

ok this is what i got from my source:

MSRP $3900 (i'm trying to find out if it's retail only from this source)
max power: over 270HP (claimed)
max torque: over 24.0kgm (claimed)
redline: reduced to 8400rpms

Kit includes: piston heads, rings, connecting rods, crankshaft, head gasket, head cover, carbon plug cover.

*Actual delivery from Fall 2002
*Labor cost not included
*Performance may vary depending on the overall power train layout
*Application will require engine block modification.

Cams live just fine...cranks are the things screaming for mercy. Tremendous whipping and torsional harmonic forces make life very difficult.

Um... no. A thirty horse increase for $3900, that sure is expensive on the dollar per horse ratio. An SC is definately a better bargain. Besides I would never do this because of the redline drop. One of the main reasons I bought the car was for the highest production redline in the world.
Not for me, but it is an interesting piece of kit.

does this kit increase engine compression? If it doesn't, you can still turbo or supercharge the car, correct?
