Default Spugen - Reducing resonance

I got the spugen dual oval w/round tips and the resonance between 3k-4k is too high under even light throttle application. I find myself trying to drive the car at under 3k or above 4k at all times and its getting annoying. What can I do to reduce the resonance? Will a hemholz work? A bigger resonator on the midpipe? help - I am getting headaches after long drives.

i assume you installed the complete system?
if you change the resonator back to stock that should help a little.

Yes, its the full cat-back system. Is the stock resonator compatible with the 2.5" piping of the Spugen system? Or are you speaking of the heimholz that sticks out to the side?

Do spugen duals vary in sound? I like the way the dual's sound on their website and I'm about to order but I don't want it super loud. From reading here I guess that spugen is in the middle of the pack as far as loudness goes. I'm I right on that??

i've the dual ovals with the stock resonator and i dont have any issuses with the 3k-4k range. everyone always seems to complain about resonance with every exhuast, but with my kit i think its almost non-existent. maybe its just me then again i've never had any passengers complain.

Did you combine your spugen with the stock mid pipe which has a resonator and a helmholtz tube? Or did you just cut it off and add it to the spugen piping?

my recollection is that it is compatible... spugen installs with or without the stock resonator. might require some spot welding-

I've had the Spugen dual oval kit for over a year now and really like it. The droning you mention was quite noticable when it was new but diminished greatly over time. How long have you had it on? If I remember correctly it took maybe 1-2000 miles to "break in".
