Default spun and crashed

It was wet, on a three lane highway p on the Malaysian hills. At about 90mph, lost the back in the middle of a gentle uphill right hander.

Couldn't react in time, did a 360 deg. pirouette, ended up in a shallow concrete ditch.

Front left fender and bumper gone, both front suspensions and left suspension mount skewed.

Have sent it to a professional body shop with laser guided allignment. Only hope no permanent weakness in chassis and no handling gremlins popping up once done.

How are parts availability though. Folks from Japan helpful? I doubt there're many S2000s in Japanese junkyards for scalvaging. That's the normal practice in Malaysia for Japanese car parts.

Most of the scalvaged parts (half-cuts) come here as god as new. Some even complete with branded aftermarket products.

But it's a sad sad time for me and my S.

Sorry to hear about your accident. No fun at all. Kuala Lumpur? My wife and I enjoyed our vacation in KL very much. Really nice people and fantastic food. The trip out to Crab Island was very memorable. The open market at night was really cool as well. The twin towers? Wow!

Anyways... i hope your baby is going to be repaired to good as new.

90mph in the wet on a right-hand sweeper through the mountains?

well, there's your problem

but i would think skewed suspension mounts would be rather difficult to completely fix

Sorry to hear about your mishap...at least you're ok. I just got my S2000 two weeks ago, and I always slow down when driving in wet conditions.

Good to see another Malaysian on the board. I'm originally from Melaka, but live in Pennsylvania, US now. Are there many S2000s in KL? Having lived in PJ for a while and owned a car there, they must cost a bomb! Anyway, hope you get your car back soon!

Sorry for the late reply.....busy supervising the fixing!

Thanks for the support guys.

Good to hear from other Malaysians too, local and abroad. Yup costs a bomb, about RM200k/US$50k on the road for a 99 model.

Those in Malaysia and Singapore check out Hypertune magazine. My friend works there as a journalist and he's done some fab oversteer drifts with my car.

Glad to know you enjoyed your trip Lig

Don't do 90 MPH on a sweeper in the rain and you'll be fine.
