Well when I quoted him, it was to his original statement of "Most of the time when i spin the back out it'll correct it self when i let off the gas" which just seemed odd, as letting off throttle will transfer the weight to the center of the car, instead of the rear. That's all I meant

Not to pick nits, but letting off the throttle transfers weight from the rear of the car to the front, not the middle. Probabaly too obvious to explain, but the tires carry the weight and there aren't any middle tires. Anyway, it is the weight transferred off the back tires that reduces the available grip (regardless of where the weight goes).

I found this out the hard way a few days ago trying to be a dumbass with my gf in the car. Came through an onramp hot @ 72mph, throttled out exiting the ramp...yea we went for a little ride.

If you find you're going in too hot, you should go for an early apex...I read that in "Speed Secrets 2"

But can you explain why?

The point is that if you are too hot you will need to be braking in the corner. The more straight you are, the more you can brake.

If you take an early apex you can remain straighter in the beginning of the corner (even though you will have to turn more in the exit of the corner). So you can stay on the brakes longer and (hopefully) get slowed down enough.

If you take an early apex but don't keep on the brakes, you will just go off the road in a different place.

careful buddy, a spin ended up costing me 8 grand to fix...insurance covering all but the deductible and most of the wear and tear items that got replaced(2 tires and brakes)
