Default Squeaking top hinges?

Has anyone else had this problem? The noise is coming from the hinge area. Any suggestions? My car is a 2006 with 600 miles on the odometer. Thanks...

MY04 has the same problem. I think alot of ppl have this issue actually. It's still under warranty so just take it back and they can re-tighten it. But it will start getting loose again. I've had my car for over 2 yrs now and every few months or so I take it back and have the dealer re-tighten them. It's annoying as hell.

There is a TSB out there saying something about replacing the locks with hardtop strikers (because they work better), but I don't think it applies to the '04 - '06 year models. FYI

they started using the hardtop strikers in later model years I believe. You might try slipping air tube used in fish tanks over the hooks on the top. This works for some people

Actually the noise is from the hinge next to your head where the top folds. What kind of lube?

I would use white lithium grease (spray).

Wait, are we talking about hinges - where things bend the top - or latches - whhere the top attaches to the windshield?

My latches were rattling and the dealer replaced both of them under warranty. Really not that big a deal.
