Default Squeal from brakes

I just got my CPO 02 s2K and I hear a seualing sound when I press the brake pedal, Its more pronounced when I lighly press the pedal, less so when heavy.

Also when I take off from a stop and just let out the clutch w/o pressing the gas I
hear a rattle form the engine compartment

I'm going to the dealer later but any ideas?

Your brake pads need a little lube. Autozone carries them and it's pretty easy to apply. (on the back of the pads, not where they touch the rotor)

Also, how do you take off from a stop without pressing the gas? The rattle is probably the sound of your engine stalling.

They are either worn (anti-squeal indicator is engaging rotor) or you have track pads?

I meanty lightly pressing the gas, like when I pull into my garage.
Just letting out the clutch and lettting the car move foward.

why don't you take a look to see if the pads are worn.....i distinctly remember you could see the pads on this car without jacking the car up or removing the wheel....(at least on one end of the car)

dealer says pads are aftermarket and are 90%, no problems other then sound.
Is this normal for aftermaket pads.

Dont want to replace pads if they're good.
Any ideas?

Depends what kind of pads they are. I had some Axxis Ult, and although they're supposed to be one of the quieter AM pads, they still squeaked noticably. If it really bothers you, either you or the dealership can put some of the anti squeak lube on the pads. If it's still bothering you, you probably will have to change out the pads.
