When is the "engine start" text on the start button illuminated? When the parking lights/headlights are on? Thanks!

Mine comes on when I turn the key to the run position. That is how it is supposed to be. If it didn't light up when you turn the key at night what would be the point of the light?

Well, I was reading about installing the button in other cars and they were saying to ground it to the e-brake so that it would light up when the e-brake was on. I thought that was weird so, that's why I was asking.

So is the light on the whole time the car is running? Or does it go off when the car is started? BTW does anyone have a wiring diagram for the button? Thanks!

the light WAS on all the time for my car MY05 as long as it was switched to 1 click. But today the light just stopped working. Kinda worried. Might bring it to the dealer to get it replaced

 

It turns off,as soon as the engine kicks in.!!!
