You might have a bent steering rack. Jack the front of the car up and turn the steering wheel. It should be easy to turn without any hard or sticky spots.

I'll check that this weekend I told the alignment guy what it was doing before he started he said everything under the car looks brand new. no signs of any damage.

Factually on paper you may be correct, but the drivers will say it feels otherwise..

i do agree however it should shoot back into a straight line...

Wha? When did I say that AP1s handle better or AP2s handle better?

I said that AP1s respond faster. The steering ratio is faster. It's a fact. There's no opinion in there at all.

I'm not opening up the "which car handles better" can of worms.

When I had my rack replaced on my Ap1 I had to get the electronic rack reset at the Honda dealership. Before I did, my car did the exact same thing. Take it to the dealership and have them reset the rack. Will make a world of difference.

Do you remember what the cost was for the dealership to reset it?

Thanks for your input.

I dont but I couldn't imagine it would be much if anything. They just have to put it on a lift and reset it. IIRC it is pretty simple and a 2 minute job.

Maybe pull the EPS fuse out from under the hood, drive unassisted for a bit, and see if the problem still remains. It will be harder to turn the wheel (especially at low speeds) but it will remove the EPS from the equation if the problem is still there.

That's good to know.
Thanks

so maybe a shop replaced the rack at some point and never took it to the dealer to have it calibrated.

It involves a bit more than that from what I read in the manual. I could see a shop charging an hour for from what I read. It's also not something that can be done yourself due to needing the cumputer.
