steering rack core AP1 vs AP2P

Default steering rack core AP1 vs AP2P

Is the steering rack in AP1 same as in AP2?

My steerring rack in S2K AP1 is damage. I can buy steering from AP2 for good price.

i think the ap2 is a closer ratio - although it will fit in an ap1

the ap2 is slower steering. they both will fit any MY. i wish i could trade my ap2 for an ap1

dyhppy is correct i believe the ap1 is at a 13:1 ratio while the ap2 is 14:1. i think i read a post sometime ago expalining that honda did this to offset the the bigger/wider wheel/tire combo of the ap2 to make it less spin happy.

Dyhppy, if you really wanted an AP1 I'm sure you could find an AP1 owner who would be happy to trade is car for your AP2.

My steering rack was damaged from water getting past the rubber boots. I got a used replacement from car-parts.com. Search in that sight and theres links to various salvage yards. I got mine from weber bros in PA and it costed $315 for a AP1 rack off a 03. I ordered on a thursday and it was at my door the next day by 230 in the afternoon. I installed it that night and had no issues as well. He gave me a 60 day warrantee also.. Check emm out!
