Default stock cat

this is a bit out of the blue and i dont exactly know if this should be posted here on s2k talk or under the hood, but i'm wondering if anyone's ever taken apart a stock cat on the s2k of if someone has some pics of a stock cat that's been taken apart.

the reason i ask is because i was wondering (if the idea isn't too out there) if anyone's ever gutted out their cat to basically function like a test pipe but still look stock.

please don't flame me for the thought, but i live in california where the popos are anal about everthing.

TIA

seems to me like it should work, would still require the O2 fix though...

or else you are throwing a light.

Not sure about the metal cats but with the ceramic ones a broom stick does wonders haha

someone suggested to me that i bore out the stock cat and slide in a test pipe.... you think that would work? assuming i removed everything from the inside and just kinda left the outside looking like what its supposed to...

It's old bro. People have been gutting out cats since the dinosaurs. You can do it. Take a long metal pipe and poke at the substrate. I would spend $$ on the T1R cuz I think it has tabs for the stock heatshield. You ever price out a used cat? Just about the same as a test pipe.
