I bought the 2002 shift knob.
Much better for the heat here in Phoenix. I was afraid of looking like the Nazi in Raiders of the Lost Ark, having the shift knob imprint burned into my palm.
The 02 knob I bought is 2 times the weight of the 01 knob. I like the feel of the 02 a lot better, but I do think the look of the 01 knob is cleaner.

I actually prefer the original '01/'00 knob to the '02. I never had a problem with excessive heat/cold and have the Rick leather sock anyways.
By the way, all the stock knobs blow in comparsion to the Voodoo knob, IMO. It's the single best mod. you can make to your car.

cool Gen I M3!!! Not many of those running around anymore. I know that many blasted BMW for the boy racer styling and big I4 engine but I always liked that car. I've never had the privledge of driving one but I've heard that they handle very well.
