I'm sorry to report, but that S2000 is far from stock. Here's the list of mods:
- it's 80kg lighter
- Full Rollcage
- Seats replaced with light-weight race-buckets.
- Motec engine management
- Custom single, free-flow exhaust with no catalic converter
- Different intake
- All spings and shocks replaced
- Full racing slicks

whoops sorry but i thought production spec ment that it was stock, so who in AUS is going to see it race?
np ... a lot of people even here get fooled like that as well as they try to drum it up as 'production racing'. They are allowed the above mods, weight reduction. Also if you have a turbo then they make special rules for you (ie. the new STIs are running 75% more boost).
Not sure how the S2000 will be doing there today bit this one does not have the best drivers (at least for the S2000). We've had 2 of them racing here in the 'production' racing and this is the slower one. ie. the one that usually finishes in the bottom 1/2 of the field. Though, there was (not competing at Bathurst) another one with a real ace driver and that had a fair few top 5 finishes last year. I went to s ride in that one (on a track) and that was an unbelivevable experience. On a track where I can get into 1:44s in my stock S2000, he was doing 1:36s in his 'production rece-spec' S2000.
Anyway, not sure who's going, but we're having 1.5 hours of coverage today, 2 hours tomorrow and 3 hours in about aweek or so. So I'll watch whatever I can on TV.
For anyone intersted in more info go to here ... they heve evev some kind of 'online' coverage that you can follow:
