Default Stock Stereo Won't Turn On!

Hey guys,

I just got my first S2k over the weekend, it's a 2003 with the stock stereo and tweeters on the door. It's been working great Sat, Sun, but just went out to get lunch and could not turn it on at all..tried all the buttons. The cd came in and out fine but the anti-theft light was still blinking on it. I tried to press the power button on it quickly, then pressed and held it down..but nothing. Is there something with the door lock/arming remote stock key device that is causing this? I'm assuming it's something to do with anti-theft still blinking? Please help..thanks!

Check your auxilliary power outlet ("lighter" socket). You will probably find it not working. If so, that fuse is blown and it also is one of the two fuses for the radio.

The lighter isn't working because it's got a wire loose from the socket on the lighter. The car came with the lighter outside kind of dangling and loose..with a wire disconnected. I will check the fuses tonight.

You'll need the anti-theft radio code if the fuse has blown.

My car did the same thing once. Turned the car on and the red light continued to blink with no stereo. I turned the car off and turned it back on and it all came back and has worked ever since.

Your radio card with the code should have came with the car. Mine was in the secret compartment.

Thank you CKit! It was indeed the fuse. Everything works fine now, not sure if I need this code.

You only need the code if the radio fuse itself blows (or if you disconnect the radio or the battery). Make sure to tape up that wires to the loose socket are covered and insulated and tape up that loose wire.
