Loctite blue works well, but if they have tools they can still take it. Best thing to do is to toss it in the trunk when you're away from the car.

i took mine out and now have a stubby on. A 2inch Perrin. and no one wants to steal that lol

In my experience, VW guys rocked these antennas way more than those cars combined.

 

Loctite would work but I'm afraid if they can't grab it, they'd kick my car or do some other damage
