Default Stolen Hardtops?

Or has anyone heard of someone else losing their HT due to theft?
Related question- Has anyone found an effective way to secure or lock down their HT?

I have heard of them getting stolen. I think I read it on a post on s2ki.com, in fact. I too want to find a way to secure it. I am going to call my insurance co. and inform them that I bought a hard top for the car, just in case.

why would you not steal a hard top? they cost more than the seats and all you have to do is break the window, undo 4 latches and you are on your merry way. a theif can steal $2500 item in less than 1 minute.

Cause you can't put it on your POS civic. People aren't stealing seats for use in other S2000's, they're putting them in civics. Now a hardtop only works for an S2000, and the S2000 is rare enough, that getting caught is possible. Stealing them to sell is even worse, since it would be tough to find a buyer.

But some a$$holes will steal anything, so a locking mechinism would be worth buying. A couple u-rings and a cable with a lock would work.
