Storage space issues
Have been an owner now for 5 days - Great! Discovered this forum - that's great too! Trying to figure out how to make the best of very limited storage space - not so great.
I did discover a little area under the floor, which has a small space for additional tools, besides the jacking and towing paraphernalia that come with the car. The so-called console areas hold the owner's manual and a very few odds and ends. How much can I stuff in those little pockets behind the seatbacks before interfering with seating comfort? In my case, the driver's seat is all the way back, because I am 6 foot 2. Does anyone out there have any cute ideas for utilizing extra space in the spare tire area? Also, I am considering the optional CD changer, but I don't know how much of the precious trunk space I will lose. If anyone has had it installed I would appreciate their opinion. I would like to be able to take this beautiful car on vacation trips with my Significant Other, but she doesn't travel light. Help!!

John David and I packed for a week away on our trip to Laguna Seca, and we were gone for 7 days, packing two helmets and a collapsable cooler. We had plenty of room for memorabilia - that which would fit and not get crushed - and some room to spare.
There's lots of space, but as far as SO-travelling is concerned, make sure she brings collapsable bags, no hard bags, not even a rolling-compact-suitcase.

I thinkg this is the most creative way to leverage the space available in the S2000.

I still have not got one for myself, but I will soon.

In your Owner's Manual under "Keys and Locks" , page 68 in the 2001 book( might be the same in the 2002) . You will find how to open the upper compartment (with pictures). here's how. When you open the center console, you'll find the trunk release. To the right of it and in the top center, push up on the lever and the top lid will open. Don't feel bad about not knowing about it, most dealers don't even know. I had to show my dealer how to open it and where the gas door release was.
