Default straight pipe question

i'm planning on getting a test pipe and just started doing research on it. are there any difference between the test pipes that are made by all the different manufactures? ARC? ASM ? Spoon? Amuse? any other ones i missed?

also, where would i get the O2 simulator to prevent tripping the code for the check engine light?

o2 simulator you can get buy buying spark plug anti foulers and drilling them out. There made by a company called "Help"

IMO test pipes are all the same, only difference is with the material its made out of.

There is no difference in test pipes, they are all just a piece of pipe with 2 flanges welded onto them. I got one on this site on groupbuy for around 65 bux or so about 3 years ago, been working flawlessly ever since.

stainless steel or titanium is the only difference*

my question is this: will putting the test-pipe causes the car to back-fire???

A Testpipe is pretty much an open tube,
this is what your CAT looks like

What sort of gains are had by replacing the cat with a test pipe?

That cat looks pretty restrictive...

Are we talking maybe just 2-3rwhp, or more?

well there are a few tiny differences. the megan racing test pipe had a built in resonator and the berk tech has a built in bung extension to take care of the cel. but yeah, other then that it's just a straight pipe with flanges like said above.
