Default Strange thing

This has only happened to me twice. First was about a week after I bought the car, so I figured maybe I screwed up my shift somehow, but then it just happened again yesterday. I will be accelerating hard, both times it only happened in first gear, and when I hit about 7500-8000 RPMs, the car suddenly feels like it wants to stop. all of a sudden, RPMs drop quick, car lurches as though something is trying to brake, and the tires squeal like they're sliding. shifter doesn't pop out of place, e brake is down, and the only pedal I am touching at the time is the gas.

Does this happen or is it a problem or am I an idiot?

Almost slams you through the windshield when it catches you unprepared.

My guess is it is the number one noob mistake. You probably didn't let the car warm up enough and wont go into vtec if you don't have 3 bars on your coolant temp gauge.
Doesn't hurt anything but need to let it warm up first.

How's your oil? If you're a little low on oil VTEC cuts out unpredictably.

I have never even tried to hit VTEC without my temperature bars up, but my Integra GSR would not let me hit VTEC if the engine was cold.

I never vtec'd when the engine is "cold". I always wait but I didn't know you had to let the third bar light up before vtec, these times there was probably only 2 bars......... problem solved

more than likely I will not revisit this thread because I don't want to see all the flames. I genuinely didn't know this
