Default A strong vote of confidence for cthree and this board

I just read cthree's announcement and I find it incredible that he's taking grief from anyone about the way he runs this board, the improvements he's made, or anything else, for that matter. Those of you who are new members do not know the history of the board and probably are not aware of the terrible S2000 sites that preceded it.

cthree launched this board with his own money and sweat, and he's built the world's leading S2000 forum, which also happens to be one of the most civil, well-informed, and well run boards in the auto world. We have cthree to thank for that. He has high standards and has worked very hard to enforce them, even in the face of much sophomoric ciriticism and behavior from ill-tempered members. We don't always get our way, which is exactly why the board is a success. Otherwise it would be a free-for-all, with the uncouth, profane, and idiotic nonsense that pollutes so many other auto forums.

People who think he's making a bundle of money off this site should just do some simple math. Add up the sponsors fees and you'll quickly conclude that nobody could make a decent living from this forum. That such criticism is coming from a sponsor is all the more apalling.

I, for one, am extremely greatful for all that cthree has done.

Three cheers for you, cthree!

I feel I need to weigh in on this topic. I, too, have been reading what cthree has posted the last few days about how this board is run, the costs involved, "donations to the cause" and such.

I am a prospective S2000 owner. I have been researching the car for the last several months and this site has been the most well-rounded source of information that I have been able to find anywhere...not just on the 'net...ANYWHERE!!

Just in the short time that I have been here I have witnessed several changes to the site...some great...some not so great. On the whole...there has definitely been a net improvement in my book.

From what I have read about previous S2000 communities...as well as what this one was in it's former life...I cannot help but be impressed with the work that has been done on this site.

To that end, kudos go out to not only cthree, the crazy moderators and sponsors...but to the participants on this site as well.

Even if stuff on this site absolutely gets us wound up and pulling out our soapbox to bitch and complain, we owe a great deal to cthree for giving us the forum to do just that.

cthree, you truly have my gratitude and support!

I agree that this site is one of the best . I have viewed other sites that have import cars involved and the information that is displayed is so bad , that only a 15 year old could believe it. I have been in many heated and long discussions on this board and it is interesting how the facts always seem to rise to the top . I feel that the information that this site gives the "WORLD" regarding the S-2000 can not be matched any where .

I know that I haven't always agreed with cthree or some of the moderators, but I've always been treated with respect and courtesy (even when we've disagreed).

My hat's off to all those responsible for this board. Simply put, it's head and shoulders above almost everything else out there. I regularly visit a few other boards more specific to my better half's car (IS300) and there simply is no comparison.

Richard Ming first pointed me here way back in the beginning of 2001 when I contacted him via another web page. My enthusiasm for and enjoyment from this little car has been enriched beyond my dreams because of that. Just another great example of this board, it's members, and sponsors bringing people together in a positive way.

So... kudos to cthree and everyone else that moderates, works on or simply sponsors this board.

To quote Rick:

"even in the face of much sophomoric criticism and behavior from ill-tempered members. We don't always get our way, which is exactly why the board is a success. Otherwise it would be a free-for-all, with the uncouth, profane, and idiotic nonsense that pollutes so many other auto forums."

I can only speculate on the source of agreed said criticism. Many that can afford this wonderful car do so at the expense of others, weather they be families or whatever. People born with the "silver spoon" are easy to peg; they usually have a certain warped sense of reality. I have no respect for them or anything they may post. You know who you are! Again, only speculation, but the balance of the rabid complainers of probably just psychos. Maybe a substance problem? In the end, those that are most quick to condemn and complain are probably just trying to feel better about their own sorry asses by pointing fingers. Alas, the "superior" feeling is oh so temporary! Then you go back to being in your own sorry ass skin! Suck it up, whiners!

Cthree, thanks for creating and maintaining this wonderful site, I have nothing but admiration for you; and can only wonder how you put up with some of the shit you have to put up with.

Cthree,

I'm sure I speak for most when I say this site, and more importantly your personal efforts at maintaining it, has evolved into the best S2000 site on the planet.

As good as it is, it doesn't sound like it will be listed in the Fortune 500 this year. Hopefully, sponsorship will continue to grow as the number of S2000 owner's continues to expand.

I think there are more than enough loyal user's to help until that time comes.....

I couldn't agree more. The information I have gathered off this board has solidified my decision to purchase an S2000. The thing I notice most about this board is the mature nature in which the members act. This could be due to that fact that this is an expensive car and most of members are not young punks. One of the Celica boards that I'm a member of seems to be run by morons, and 99% of the posts are just plan retarded. This board is a fresh reminder that there are people out there that have a brain in their head, and have more important topics to discuss than that awesome decal they "modded" their car with last night. I feel that the operators of the board are doing a stellar job!

After my first interaction in a showroom last Memorial Day, I KNEW that I MUST have this car!! I spent time on this site at least daily for months, collecting information, having very informed owners spend their time with me, helping me make decisions on aftermarket parts, etc.

I am so very proud of this site and have gained valuable information and relationships. I treasure and trust the input and advice from so many on this site. THANK YOU for all of your time and investment.

Best Regards
