well, there is the SAFC, or super air control, and that's for standard camed motors. VAFC is specifically for motors with VTEC. VTEC adds in variables that SAFC cant handle, so vafc changes a few things..throttle maps, fuel curves..etc..A/f ratios...need me to explain what VTEC is? lemme know..I am more then willing to help ya..

A must for FI is some type of engine management not specifically VAFC.

Actually VAFC is not the preferred way to tune FI just the cheap way. More power and effeciency can be obtained with something like AEM EMS or emanage from greddy

So in which cases would you use the VAFC instead of an AEM EMS, per say?

S2000s run rich normally. A VAFC can remove fuel at desired parts of the rpm range and also change the VTEC engagement point, thus giving some cars gains in power.

all the vafc is a piggy back computer, you keep your stock ecu, with the vafc you can make minore changes in fuel, and vtec engagment points, only get a vafc if one, you not going to mod alot, like say intake, header, exhaust, but even then its much better to get a aem ems, much much tunabilty, and much more power to be found, the ems will tune the car much better and safer, yes the vafc a little less expensive to start, but you ad in,price of the unit, say 300 plus instalation another 100 bucks, dyno tuning another 200 bucks, and then the disapointment of not making that much power, just save youself the hassle and get the aem ems
