Has anyone heard anything more about a supposed subwoofer option for 2001?

 

I heard of one as an option for MY2001. Sondra has been working with someone developing a sub for her car...

 

Yeah, it is a dealer-installed option.

I was at my local dealer, getting my 1-2 grind thingy done, and saw the "Dealer Installed Options" pamphlet sitting in the kiosk. There's definately one, but how it's being powered, that's a different story. It made no mention of an amp or anything.

But yes, there is one.

 

I heard it mentioned on the board a while back. Ive yet to see the MY2001 pamphlets and info. Didn't know if it was a rumor or what. It is something im very interested in but haven't seen it on the sponsor sites either. I wonder how much $$$, i'd probably just install it myself. Anyone else have any specifics about cost and availability?

 

Called my Honda dealer.

They have the part on file, but no part number. Availability should be "early 2001"

The only info the parts guy could provide is that it is a "Kelton Bassworks"

 

Ldog, I believe it's an amp/sub combo together. My dealer said it won't be available til 2001 also.

Supposedly the list price will be $299 plus installation. It is a MY2001 option for the Odyssey, the Accord and the S2000. It is powered from the radio and fits under the passenger seat.

It is supposed to be an "early 2001" option.

My dealer cannot confirm the $299 and cannot find a part number for it yet.

Must be an upgraded stereo, or a POS woofer. My Crapmaro has a Bose tuned "woofer". It is basically a long tube w/ a 6.5" paper cone POS speaker in it.
