Default Suggestion for Tools

I'm trying to start a new tool box from scratch. Not looking to spend thousands of $$$ but maybe a couple hundred. I do go to the track a lot so I'm always working on the car. I only need essentials (also list nice-to-haves if you can!) What would you guys suggest adding to my list?

- 3 Drawer Tool Box
- 22pc Metric Socket set
- Screwdrivers/flatheads

Anything else?

Thanks!

Electric Impact (my Harbor Freight impact is good enough for axle nuts)
U Joints for your ratchet/impact
GearWrench ratcheting box wrenches
Mechanix Gloves - I feel like I work faster and I can get a better grip on things

That's about a 100 dollars worth of stuff that will make your life a lot easier.

Here's what's in my tool bag that goes with me everywhere (to the track as well) and allows me to do almost everything I'm capable of doing on an S2000

Socket set
socket wrench
various extensions
socket adapters (so I can use my 3/8" sockets with my 1/2" torque wrench)
10mm ratcheting box wrench (great for doing breaks)
12mm ratcheting box wrench
Brake compressor tool or vice grip
flat head screw driver (make sure it can compress rear calipers)
philips head screw driver
socket for rear wheel hub (forget the size)
box wrench for diff drain bolt
socket for diff fill bolt
tie rod tool
safety glasses
torque wrench
19mm socket
scissors
box cutter
cable cutter
adjustable wrench (make sure it fits for brakes)
zip ties
electrical tape
duct tape
painters tape
flashlight
mechanics gloves
sharpie
7/8" box wrench for speed bleeders
oil filter wrench/socket

Do you have the big electric impact or the one that is powered via car socket? I was contemplating buying that since I hate it when I get the car up in the air and realize the battery for my impact wrench is dead.

I have a big 120v impact. I think I might pickup a cordless Makita in the future to do lugnuts away from my garage, but I don't change my wheels enough to really justify it now.

Pretty good list going here. I agree with everything people have suggested above, all "must haves" if your working on the S. I would also add to the list:21,22,23,24mm deep sockets depending on what all sockets come in your 22pc kit im not sure. Its good to have 8mm up to 30mm sockets if you can. For a track car, add a 36mm deep socket to your kit for the axle nuts and an impact screwdriver for removing the rotors.

I've always just set out to do a job and if I didn't have it... I went and pulled from my "tools" savings and added it to the box
